YANGON, Aug. 11 -- The Myanmar authorities Tuesday lifted a tsunami warning following an earthquake felt earlier in some areas of the country, according to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department. The sources said earthquake was felt in such areas as Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw as well as some coastal areas of Sittway and Daweiin western Rakhine state and southwestern Ayeyawaddy division. So far no casualties and damage have been reported. According to the department, a strong earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale hit the sea off India's Andaman Islands at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday (Myanmar local time), 480 kilometers to the southwest from Yangon.
