Demonstration is about Peace & Security for the Kachin People, Myanmar. On that event most of Kachin who arrived in Romania through the resettlement program of UNHCR in Malaysia 2010. The failure resettlement is the Romania Government's first refugee resettlement program.
Romania Government conducted for the resettlement program and it lacked an efficient and effective protection in the integration for them.They were not provided nor received adequate housing Health care, Education and employment opportunities during we stayed in Romania.
They even faced discrimination from the local Romanians. Also they were being threatened to be sent back to Burma by the Romania authorities. Because of that condition in Romania they were forced to rely on hand-out from donors abroad from the church and sympathized friends. The failure of resettlement program and situation in Romania push us to come to Denmark to seek asylum, they have no other choices and option.
Recently they have lost a sister from our group( Maran Seng Ra ) a mother of two daughters due to the depression and afraid of being send back to Romania. Many from their group are traumatized and suffer from depression due to the difficult experience they encountered in Romania. Therefore they are appealing to the Danish authority to seriously consider their case.
In my opinion, they are appealing for United Nations to take action and help a hand the civil war in ethnic area, especially the Kachin State & the further refugees resettlement programs.
