A drone bombing attack carried out by the military junta’s forces in Loi Dau Pa village, Ma-U Bin village tract, Kamaing Township, Kachin State, has claimed the life of a young man. The incident occurred around 6:00 PM on August 13, killing 21-year-old Jadup Zau Jum from Kaung Yar Ra Kamaing, who was working in a farm at the time, according to local sources.
The area is a frequent conflict zone between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), junta troops, and the Shan Ni People's Militia. Additionally, the military has been increasing its forces in an attempt to regain control over the Hpakant region and surrounding areas.
At the time of the attack, Jadup Zau Jum was working in the fields to support his family when he was struck by the drone-dropped bomb. Locals report that nearby areas may also have been affected by the explosion, though details on other casualties or damage remain unclear.
Kamaing Township has seen repeated clashes and tensions between the KIA and junta forces, leaving civilians in a state of fear and social instability. Due to the lack of security, there are growing concerns that more locals may be forced to flee their homes.
